Hi! This is the part where I label myself as a “technologist” or “engineer” or something. But to be honest, I really just see myself as a storyteller. And at the moment, coding and data are my preferred mediums for doing so. I am also just fascinated by AI in terms of its creative potential and the challenges it presents to the way we make things.

Professionally, I am seeking a role in the data science and machine learning fields. Having completed my PhD at the Building Informatics Lab at NYU, I know I can just get into a flow state when coding models and figuring out how to showcase data to convey meaningful insights. And whatever role that is, I’d like to stay close to the ever-evolving developments in AI.

Beyond these career goals, I like working on side projects that explore various topics:

  • Emergence: How does beauty and complexity emerge from elegant frameworks?
  • AI and Human Creativty: How can AI mirror the creativity of designers?
  • Virtual Playgrounds: How can virtual worlds help us imagine and understand possible futures?
  • Wushu’s Past and Future: What can Chinese martial arts teach us about evolving cultural practices?

The skills I’ve developed from my PhD research using VR, wearables and machine learning have provided me a broad foundation from which to build off for these projects.

Aside from that, I’m always up for making anything that involves storytelling: film, graphic design, photography, comics. In one way or another, I believe that all of it comes back to inform how I tell a story, with or without data.
